No.4 British Kummel
Kummel, a classic European liqueur, often associated with the sport of Golf, has taken a while to really perfect. Our brief was to create a version that’s perfect in a classic Silver Bullet cocktail, but one that’s equally delicious served from the freezer over ice. We were looking for impeccable balance, texture and botanical subtlety alongside the classic Kummel notes of caraway, fennel and cumin.
Tasting Note
Sipped neat, from the freezer, VRSD No.4 Kummel is clean, precise and not overly sweet. Caraway is joined by subtleties of grapefruit, coriander seed, cumin, fennel seed and orris. Texturally it’s viscous and oily when chilled, cloudy, yet crystalline and refreshing from the cold. With dilution, or in cocktails, notes of anise and baking spices emerge.
